2015 VT Brain Bee

On Saturday, February 7, 2015, 35 students from seven Vermont high schools competed in the 6th Annual Vermont Brain Bee at the UVM College of Medicine.

Lyn Ackert-Smith, a junior from Mt Abraham High School in Bristol was the first place finisher, Cullen Jemison, a senior also from Mt Abraham took second place, Lauren Whitehouse, a sophomore from Essex High School and Charlotte Evans, a junior also from Essex High School tied for third place.  In the team category of four students from separate schools, Mt Abraham High School placed first, Essex High School was second and Burlington Technical Center came in third.

William Falls, Chairman of the Department of Psychological Science at the University of Vermont, gave an enlightening keynote talk, “Stress and the Emotional Brain’.
